INTERMEDIATE DIPLOMA IN FACILITIES MANAGEMENT

1. Course Objectives
The Intermediate Diplomas in Real Estate Management and Facilities Management provide up-skilling and multi-disciplinary skills training to take on extended job scope and responsibilities. The courses have been designed to meet the following objectives:

  • Serve as progression courses for holders of the SRP-REMMI Advanced Certificate in Real Estate Management & Maintenance or equivalent
  • Provide formalised certifiable training to upskill and enhance employability
  • Provide multi-disciplinary skills training for job enlargement and enrichment.

2. Course Structure
Both Intermediate Diplomas comprises of four modules, two of which are common:

M1:  HRM Applied to Real Estate

  • Career Planning & Development

M2:  IT in REMMI (Advanced)

  • Management & Information Searching
  • Basic Statistics and Programming

Intermediate Diploma in Real Estate Management

M3A:  Real Estate Agency
  • Real Estate Agency Practice
  • Types of Agency Arrangement
  • Rights & Obligation of an Agent
  • Sale and Leasing of Real Estate Properties

M4A:  Real Estate Marketing

  • Principles of Marketing
  • Consumer Behaviour
  • Real Estate Marketing Plans & Strategies
  • Marketing Management & International Marketing

Intermediate Diploma in Facilities Management

M3B: Maintenance Technology

  • Building Defects & Pathology
  • Types of Defects in Building Elements
  • Diagnostic Techniques
  • Repair Methods

M4B: Maintenance Management

  • Building Maintenance & Refurbishment
  • Maintenance Systems & Budgets
  • Planning and Organising Maintenance Work
  • Maintenance Information System

3. Course Accreditation  
Several UK and Australian Universities have validated the course for exemptions and articulation into their built environment degree programmes.

4. Entry Requirements
4.1 Applicants are expected to have 'O'/'N' Levels (Credits in English and Mathematics) or WDA ESS WPLN Level 5/6 and at least the following qualification:

  • SRP-REMMI Advanced Certificate in Real Estate Management and Maintenance

4.2 Applicants not meeting the above qualifications may be required to take bridging courses

4.3 Applicants with approved higher-level qualifications working in the industry or associated industries may be exempted in related modules on a case-by-case basis.

Course duration and fees will be determined by the extent of exemptions granted:
