COURSE BACKGROUND
The open spaces between and around buildings often incorporate
building work such as outbuildings serving as weather shelters/meeting
points/security huts and, linking covered walkways and paved footpaths.
These external building works form part of the hard landscape complementing
the soft landscape of trees, shrubs and grass, enhancing the outdoor
building environment. Most elements of hard landscape require varying
degrees of maintenance, the extent of which can be influenced by
good design.
COURSE OBJECTIVES The course will provide knowledge in the following aspects of external
works maintenance:

COURSE LEADERS
Er. Yong Shan Chi
Mr Yong, a Professional Engineer (Civil) has extensive design and
construction management experience. He has developed learning material
for CITI and lectures in modules such as Building Envelope and Precast
Concrete water-tightness for them.
Dr Quah Lee Kiang
Dr Quah is the Director of the Real Estate and Construction Centre
in Singapore and Malaysia. She is a second-generation builder with
extensive regional and international experience in Project and Facilities
Management & Maintenance research, advice and academia.
Lin Shiaw Ying
Mr Lin is an EMA Licensed Electrical Worker (Technician Grade).
He has over thirty years working experience and lectures part-time
for the ITE, delivering modules and customised courses on electrical
installations and maintenance.
COURSE FEES
The course fee of $595.00 includes course documentation and refreshments at breaks. A group discount of 10% will apply for three or more delegates from the same organisation. SDF applications can be made on a case-by-case basis; please call SDF for details.
COURSE ACCREDITATION AND CERTIFICATE OF ATTENDENCE
The course has been approved for 7 PDU units under the PE Board Continuing
Professional Development programme. Attendance certificates will
be issued; they may also be suitable for meeting the CPD requirements
of other relevant professional bodies not operating a CPD course
accreditation system.
