Executive Training Courses

NEW 3-DAY TRAINING COURSE

COMMUNICATION & BUSINESS ETHICS IN PROPERTY & FACILITIES MANAGEMENT

COURSE BACKGROUND

Property & Facilities Managers invariably work with people.  Some of them could be building users/residents, essentially customers with needs and expectations and who occasionally may step out of line. Others could be contractors and service providers who need to be managed to ensure that service standards are delivered and penalties imposed if not. Still, others could be officers from the local authorities such as the National Environment Agency undertaking dengue surveillance work.

It is thus important that the Property & Facilities Managers are able to communicate effectively to resolve issues at hand, failing which misunderstandings, frustrations and conflicts could arise. Ability to communicate effectively also reflects on personal and organisational image.

Going hand in hand with effective communication is behaving professionally and ethically at the workplace. The course will seek to imbue a spirit of professionalism and the fostering of an ethical Real Estate and Facilities Management work environment by emphasizing and demonstrating the importance of adopting this culture.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

The course will provide the knowledge and skills for communicating on the job including:

  • Verbal and non-verbal communication skills for day-to-day operating needs
  • Written communication skills for addressing complaints and recovering arrears in maintenance fees
  • Report writing and taking minutes of meetings
  • Execute work with a high degree of ethics and professionalism.
