THE BUSINESS OF REAL ESTATE MANAGEMENT
|
COURSE BACKGROUND
Every business requires space to operate in, real estate/property
as such forms an essential factor of production incurring cost.
For most corporate businesses, this cost is quite substantial. Where
the property is owned for organisational use and/or as investments,
the profile of as well as the way in which real estate resources
are managed can have an impact on the organisation’s ability
to achieve its business objectives and profit margins. Most real
estate arrangements involve long-term commitments; real estate assets
are also not very liquid. Real estate management thus requires skills
that are normally different from running any other business.
